Immerse Yourself in Sound with Dolby Atmos Music on Sonos
Experience music in a whole new way with Dolby Atmos Music and your Sonos system! This guide covers everything you need to know to set up and enjoy spatial audio on compatible Sonos speakers.
What is Dolby Atmos Music?
Dolby Atmos Music goes beyond traditional stereo sound, creating a multi-dimensional listening experience that surrounds you with rich, immersive audio.
What do you need?
- Subscription to a supported music service: Currently, Amazon Music and Apple Music offer Dolby Atmos Music on Sonos.
- Compatible Sonos speaker: Enjoy Dolby Atmos with Arc, Beam (Gen 2), or Era 300.
- Sonos app: Download the Sonos S2 app for iOS or Android to control your system.
Getting Started:
- Connect your Sonos speaker to Wi-Fi and add your music service: Ensure your speaker is online and your Dolby Atmos-compatible music service is linked to your Sonos system.
- Play Dolby Atmos Music: When playing a Dolby Atmos track, look for the "Dolby Atmos" badge on the Now Playing screen in the Sonos app.
Supported Sonos Speakers:
- Sonos Arc,
- Sonos Beam (Gen 2),
- Sonos Era 300.
Controlling Dolby Atmos Playback:
- Enable/Disable Dolby Atmos: Adjust the "Spatial Music" setting in the Sonos app for your Atmos-supported speaker:
- Open the Sonos app and go to Settings > System.
- Choose your Atmos speaker and scroll down to "Sound."
- Toggle the "Spatial Music" setting. This change takes effect after the next track starts.
Additional Notes:
- Grouping a non-Atmos supported speaker with an Atmos-enabled one will switch the group to stereo mode. Removing the non-Atmos speaker restores Dolby Atmos for Atmos tracks.
